Healthy Habits & Personal Hygiene

We all must start to develop healthy habits early in life. Early in life is at the time you are in elementary school. Healthy habits ensure you live a long productive life. As children you learn to develop healthy habits when you practice these habits on a daily basis. They will help students keep a positive attitude. A positive mindset helps students cope with daily challenges, and even bounce back from disappointments.

So how do you know you have healthy habits? Here are five healthy habits a healthy person has.

Healthy Habit #1.

You have a positive mindset. You do not let disappointments keep you down for too long. You are able to think of solutions and get back on your feet and set better measures to help you achieve your goals.

Healthy Habit #2.

You don’t waste your time doing many idle things, such as watching too much television, playing unproductive games on a screen, sleeping for long hours, or just day-dreaming (doing nothing).

Healthy Habit #3.

You do not procrastinate. You know it is not good to leave important things undone, such as school work or chores. You don not allow them to accumulate and then you you are surprised and confused as to how to get started and even complete them. .

Healthy Habit #4.

You enjoy eating healthy and you avoid snacking too much. If you must snack, you prefer eating fresh fruits. You make sure you eat you breakfast, lunch and dinner on time.

Healthy Habit #5.

You enjoy reading by yourself and with others. Reading helps you develop your mind and help you connect different aspects in your life. You learn to become more responsible. Knowledge is acquired while you read. For instance, when you read food labels you learn more about the food you eat. You will learn if that food is a good food to indulge in or if you should stay clear away from it. You know that good food will help you develop a positive mind and give you the energy to do the things you have to do.

Healthy Habit #6.

You enjoy many physical activities by yourself or with your friends and family. Now in order to enjoy physical activities, you have to be healthy in mind and body. Thus, a healthy habits help you live a positive and productive life.

If you find you are lacking in any of these healthy habits, set your goals today to begin developing healthy habits.


Here is a list of healthy habits

Exercise

Exercise helps you control your weight. maintain healthy bones and joints, reduce the chances of get ill or developing high blood pressure, heart disease, or diabetes later on in life.

Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. As children exercise does not need to be a chores, it can be part of your play, when you walk to the park, when you play in the park or fields, when play jump rope, or tug-a-war. Put the screen device away and play with your friends and family.

Eat healthy

Let the first meal of the day be healthy. Eat a healthy cereals, stay away from the processed cereals. Add to your milk or yogurt oats and chopped local fruits such as banana or apple. Eat your protein, egg is a good source of protein for breakfast. Continue your healthy eating throughout the day and avoid sugary and over-processed foods as they have not beneficial nutrients for the body.

Drink water

Water keeps you hydrated. You can get dehydrated quite easily. Here is a list of things you should note to detect if you are dehydrated:

  • feeling thirsty
  • dark yellow and strong-smelling pee
  • feeling dizzy or lightheaded
  • feeling tired
  • a dry mouth, lips and eyes
  • peeing fewer than 4 times a day

Make sure you drink water while you play and exercise and if you are out in the sun.

Dental Hygiene

Brush and floss your teeth after meals.

Comb your hair

Take care of your scalp by combing your hair. Combing help promote hair growth and luster.

Sleep

You need at least eight hours of sleep to help your body reset and restore nerve networks. A good night’s sleep helps you function to your optimum each day. When you steal your sleep time you get drowsy during the day, you are easily fatigued and lack the focus you need to apply to your school work. You are also very forgetful. You interfere with your learning when you do not sleep enough.

Bathe everyday and wash your hands. You must wash and keep clean so you don’t spread germs to others or to the food you eat. You must wash your hands properly with soap and running water when you come from outside, after playing, or playing with your pet. Wash your hands with soap and water. Wash your hand after you sneeze, cough or blow your nose.

Remember, a healthy body helps keep a healthy mind.
