Numbers help us count and show amounts. When we write numbers we show our ideas in the form of numerals.
When we look at this egg tray we count 6 spaces for 6 eggs. Therefore, 6 and six are both numerals. A number can be a single digit, or makes of a number of digits.
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 are the digits we use.
